It is known by everyone that women have done great things through history. From artists to writers, activists, scientists, actresses… But sometimes these women went unrewarded because of the difficult context they suffered. Due to the society that they were living in they struggled to be taken into account as men, and in most of the time that did not happen. Women were brave to stand out when injustices happened, and to do what they were not supposed to do. They were pioneers in horrible circumstances, they were insulted, treated as crazy and even burnt in fires as witches. It is important to learn about them, to make their effort worth it and to tribute them. That’s why I’ve created this blog. I want to give voice to these women and the importance they deserve. Rosa went down in history as a brave and fighting woman. Alabama. (4 feb 1913-24 oct 2005) On December 1955 , in Montgomery (Alabama) Rosa Parks was returning from work . She got on the bus and took a seat at the back, in the places allowed for black citizens. As the bus traveled, seats began to be missing and some people remained standing. The driver stopped the bus to ask three black women to get up, realizing that there were white people standing. Rosa Parks refused (Such a rebell!). Obviously, she was arrested. She belonged to an association who fought for the civil rights of African Americans. Her mates began a protest shortly after she was arrested: "We are asking all blacks not to get on buses on Monday. You can miss class one day. If you work, take a taxi or walk. But please do not take any bus on Monday. Please stay out of buses on Monday.” The "Monday" of protest lasted more than a year.
